James Hong has joined State Voices as our new Deputy Director of State Capacity Building. James will provide broad support to the state tables and oversee voter registration campaigns. He also will also support table planning, convenings, and racial equity initiatives.

James most recently served as co-director at the MinKwon Center for Community Action, a community-based organization in New York City dedicated to empowering Korean American, Asian American and immigrant communities. The MinKwon Center is a table partner of the New York Civic Engagement Table.

Prior to his time at the MinKwon Center, James worked in market research, conducting qualitative and survey-based quantitative research studies.  He holds an A.B. in Government from Bowdoin College and an M.Div. from Princeton Theological Seminary.  James is an immigrant from South Korea and was raised in South Florida.
