Matt Brix

Managing Director

Matt Brix is State Voices’ Managing Director where he oversees the organization’s day-to-day operations. He works closely with the Executive Director and the Board of Directors on all aspects of organizational strategy.

During his fifteen years of experience in the nonprofit sector, Matt has managed organizations, advocacy campaigns, fundraising strategies, and communications strategies. He previously served as the Senior Director of State Capacity Building at State Voices, Executive Director of Common Cause New Mexico, and CEO of the Albuquerque-based Center for Civic Policy. Matt has served on the boards of state-based nonprofit organizations. He also served for two years on New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson’s Ethics and Campaign Reform Task Force.

Matt holds a BA from Saint John’s University in Minnesota and a MA from the University of New Mexico. An outdoor enthusiast, he loves to explore new places on foot.
